MV Days

We had a great trip to MV.  The weather was unexpectedly nice:  70's and sunny almost every day even though the weather report was generally for rain.  We went to the beach 4 times and biked, just a few miles, a couple of times.  We also did a  lot of things to get the house ready for our tenants in August, as well as for us.
We went out for a number of lunches and one dinner.  The dinner was at our favorite restaurant, but most things seemed just a bit off.  The owner chef wasn't there because he is working everyday on a second all day restaurant below his current dinner only restaurant (2nd floor).  Linda thought this was the reason for the food being off but I'm not sure.  The chef, who is from Lyon, France, has somehow perfected a way to freeze or do something else to preserve many of his food items as it is a large menu that doesn't change and he couldn't afford to produce fresh everyday these many items, especially in the off season when business is slow.  Also, the food is prepared pretty quickly and often his son acts as chef.
One lunch place had my favorite chocolate chip cookies, extremely rich and chocolatey.
I did almost all of the driving even though MV is about the only place Linda ever drives.  I felt very normal to be doing all the driving, including to and from MV.  For the drive up, we never even had a traffic slowdown so there was no worry about making our ferry.  We were early but couldn't make an earlier ferry, probably because it was the holiday weekend.  The drive home started in rain but from north of New Haven the weather was nice.
My only anxiety on the long drives was Amos and finding suitable places for changes.  Amos also created a little anxiety at MV.  He was very good on the drive home, with only one change at a clean bathroom at Pepe's Pizza in New Haven (one of the most famous pizza places in the country and a stop we try to make when we drive home.)
Tomorrow I have lab tests, a meeting with Eleanor, and expected normal chemo.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
