David was voted off the Island -- oops, wrong episode of "survivor.". My survivor is doing fine, and has been freed of monitors and most tubes, except the all-important morphine on demand.
Elkan has been sleeping and walking the halls, and they would switch him to a regular hospital room (out of the I.c.u. - called sic-u by them and us) but there are no rooms available. His doc recommended a private room on the exclusive 13 th floor.
Elkan says this place is very popular, and he is happy to contribute to this thriving Philly business. clear liquids and jello today, some solid food tomorrow.
Today's theme for Elkan was beating Rachel at sleep. Rachel napped yesterday on the window ledge, on the recliner chair, on my couch at home, in our guest apt. bed, and in Elkan's bed. A real goldilocks. She also beat Elkan at gin rummy. No baseball cards were injured or bet.
