We did not get good news from Dr. Yeo. He found that the cancer has spread to Elkan's liver, and therefore he did not do the Whipple. (stage 4 endinocarcinoma)
Dr. Yeo was able to remove the gall bladder and replace the bile ducts so that the jaundice and itch will be cured, and Elkan will be able to eat anything. He also did a "pain block" to prevent future pain.
There is a short term recovery from the surgery (about a month)and possible chemo to follow. Keeping up Elkan's weight and having fun (keeping up his spirits) are the keys to more and better quality time.
