What are you a hollerin'?

Not much has been happening.  I'm continuing to enjoy my chemo holiday but Amos also continues to provide enough unpredictability to keep me on edge and close to home.  We seem to have my pill regimen pretty stable although we'll have to see if the re-start of chemo on the 28th will throw everythng out of whack, especially me.
A few days ago I informed my high school homeroom classmates of my illness and gave this website in case anyone was interested in my saga.  We had had our own homeroom reunion a year ago with much e-mail correspondence leading up to the reunion.  At the time, I had felt the need to respond to a few right wing comments that were being made and that no one else had been responding to and unfortunately, the communications became political warfare and turned a lot of people off.  This is a preface to the following e-mail which I received a couple of days ago from the strongest right wing advocate from my class in response to reading my blog.
"I went to your blog, as you invited me to do, and was struck by your implacable disdain and ridicule for other points of view.  Your delight at the missteps of Republican candidates suggests a touch of cruelty in your demeanor intermixed with an enormous dose of hypocrisy, as you ignore the patent stupidity and lack of talent from Obama. ... [An attack on Obama and the Dems was included here.]...  And when you offer your posts, you should not invite conservatives like me to be exposed to your careless insults and your mindless opinions."  The caption above, which I believe is a Mel Brooks line, seems appropriate here.
Is this right wing rant really based on the following innocuous comment from my prior Blog entry:  "It just occurred to me that the Republican debates are like a form of America's Funniest Home Videos. Of course, we Dems can use all the help we can get."
All you conservatives and/or shrinks out there, please feel free to let me know if you agree with this guy or can explain such a strong reaction.  Actually, it's probably left over resentment from over a year ago where this guy's responses were more vitriolic and nasty.
His response reminds me of my Freedom From Religion Foundation newsletter which every few months includes some of the hostile e-mails it receives.  Supposedly "Christians" are writing in, using the most vulgar language, to describe their hatred for the FFRF for doing something like opposing the placement of the 10 Commandments on government or school property.   It's quite amusing.
Hope you're having a good weekend.  Maybe a little biking tomorrow.
